Help Ensure That Ham Radio Remains Vital
Ham radio needs your help! We need new people in the hobby. There is an ever expanding set of new and
exciting technologies. We have new operating modes that allow communications under conditions that were unthinkable just a few years ago. Now we need to get new people licensed, and those with licenses upgraded to take advantage of all of the incredible opportunities that the hobby offers.
We need Volunteer Examiners. Amateur Extra VEs conduct exam sessions for all license classes. If you are an Extra, please consider joining us as a credentialed VE. In our area, 46% of licenses are Technicians. General and higher VEs can
administer those Technician Exams! Technicians, consider upgrading and join us too.
Becoming a VE is straightforward, and requires just enough effort to make it worthwhile, something to be proud of. You do self study of the Volunteer Examiner Manual, take an ‘open book’ test and complete the application. There is no cost. More information is available at http://www.arrl.org/become-an-arrl-ve.
Hope to see you helping at the next exam session

As you probably know, we don’t generally meet in July and August. Therefore, the next membership meeting will be in September at the Bluffton Fire Emergency Operations Center (EOC), proceeded by a Latin luncheon at Tio’s off Buckwalter. Details will follow later this Summer.
