Holiday Dinner and Year-End Celebration — Thursday Night at Jameson’s @ Hidden Cypress !!
December 7th — 6:30 PM Seating
Tis the Season!!
Thank you to all members who have said that they will be at our Year-End Celebration and Holiday Dinner on Thursday!
Jameson’s Char House at Hidden Cypress has a private room for us that can accommodate up to about 30 people.
To date, we have 23 members and guests on our “reservation list”: Bob Officer (2), Ken Finke (1), Charlie Bess (1), Lon Seward (2), Ron Frick (1), Chip Miller (2), Bob McCormick (1), Jack Frisch (2), Ed Stratton (1), John Tregenza (1), Sherwin Tames (2), Marty Caprielian (2), Phil Flaxman (2), Frank Pollino, Harve Hnatiuk (2).
This is a “Dutch Treat”…every one or every couple will get a separate check for what they order.
There will be door prizes and a “gift exchange” is planned. Participation in the gift exchange is encouraged but not required. If you bring a gift, you’ll be eligible to get a gift. Cash value of new items should not exceed $25. If you have ham radio items around the shack that you are not using, you could also package one of them up and use that as your “gift”.
During the evening, we will recognize members who are present who have made significant contributions to the SCHH ARC during the past year or two or so.
There’s still time to reserve your place(s) at the table. The room should accommodate 30 diners.
Please reserve by contacting Harve Hnatiuk (hnat463@gmail.com).
Hope to see you there with a gift for the exchange!
KE4HAM Entry for ARRL EME Contest “Is In”
It is official! The results of our EME outing on Saturday, November 25th that resulted in two moon bounce QSOs from the Veterans Field parking area have been sent to the ARRL.
KE4HAM’s entry is in! Thanks to Frank Pollino, K2OS, for following up and submitting our entry. Harve Hnatiuk, KB3FW, uploaded the contact information to the ARRL’s Logbook of the World and to EQSL.
Will our entry win a prize? That depends. If there is a prize for ingenuity and creativity, the answer is most likely a resounding YES!
Plans are to send the picture below to Sunsations magazine here in Sun City and to QST. It tells a quick story of what happened on the evening of November 25th. We shot for the Moon and we succeeded!
Here are some other photos from the EME Outing.

Even if you don’t think you have much to say when you check in, “Hello, and hope everyone is doing well” is a good start, right?
