Membership Meeting – January 4, 2024 at the Lakehouse

Our January 4th meeting will start at 7 PM with a presentation on the ARRL’s “Logbook of The World” by Ken Finke, KN8F. The regular membership meeting will follow Ken’s presentation.

Hope to see you at the Lakehouse at Argent Lakes (Bayview Room…our usual meeting location).

K2ITZ Eclipses 2500 Mark in Parks Hunted

Talk about timing! Jack Frisch, K2ITZ, worked his 2500th unique park!. The Parks on the Air (POTA) certificate that recognizes this super milestone is shown below.

In Jack’s own words: “I reached 2500 unique parks yesterday and the certificate is dated today, Christmas Day. I guess Santa was looking out for me. The award is the Heliconia Angusta, The Christmas Flower. Ironic!!”

SCHH ARC Presentation at the Computer Club’s Computer Hour – January 12th

Bill Altman, WB3CBO, asked our club to do a presentation for the SCHH Computer Club on how we as hams use computers.

Ken Finke, KN8F, volunteered to put the presentation together. Ed Stratton, W1ZZ, worked with Ken to finalize the PowerPoint.

Ken will do the presentation at Pinckney Hall at 10 AM on January 12th. Ed and Harve, KB3FW, plan to be there.

All SCHH ARC members are invited to come to the presentation.

Entries Closed for Club Logo Contest – Next Step: Voting!

If you entered the Logo Contest, thank you for your efforts!

As of today, it appears that we have five entries: Two from Charlie Bess, AD5EN; two from Chip Miller, KQ4JKI: and one from Harve Hnatiuk, KB3FW.

If you sent an email to Harve with an entry that is not listed above, please forward that email to hnat463@gmail.com by Friday, January 5th.

Winter Field Day – January 27th

Several members have volunteered to work together to put KE4HAM on the air for Winter Field Day later this month.

Bob Officer, WA6WAY, will lead this effort.

An organizational Zoom meeting will be scheduled in the next week or two.
