SCHH ARC “This & That” – May 21 , 2024

de KB3FW

The SCHH ARC is a GREAT CLUB! Many clubs in SCHH end everything that they do at their May meetings and resume activities some time after Labor Day in September.

The SCHH ARC has a meeting on June 6th to discuss ARRL Field Day, which will happen at Lake Somerset for us on June 22nd.

We will have a POTA activation of KE4HAM and a Lighthouse activation event on August 3rd on Hunting Island.

Our newsletter “This & That” is published every week…no breaks for the summer like many SCHH clubs, some of which never publish anything on a regular basis.

Many of our members “meet” during the week during our nets on 2m FM. It’s not too hard to hit the KK4ONF repeater for Wednesday nights…every week, including the summer.

If you can’t get on the air, we usually have EchoLink up and running so you can get on board that way.

We have a club repeater up and running with members regularly monitoring it in case someone has news or just wants to chat.

We have no formal meetings in July or August but we are not taking the summer off!

Please join your fellow hams in activities and our great nets over the summer months and let’s have some ham radio fun.

New Club Banner Has Arrived!

Chip Miller, KQ4JKI, has a new temporary addition to his shack!

We are ready for ARRL Field Day! Not to mention Hunting Island!!

The banner will be “officially” unveiled at our June 6th Membership Meeting.

Thanks to Chip for leading the effort to design and procure the new banner!

Welcome Mat Gets Unexpected Visitor!

Harve, KB3FW, recently went to check if the front door of his house was locked.

Here is what he saw when he looked out the door. You can’t make this up…it is SC after all!

A little gator seemed to read the Welcome Mat and was poised to come in for a visit!

Harve gave him a “rain check” that can be used in 2075.

If you have a good SCHH Gator Photo to share, please send it to Harve (hnat463@gmail.com).
